What Items Can and Can't Be Recycled?

Before you recycle, please make sure with your local recycling company what items can be recycled and what items can’t be recycled. When you put materials together for recycling, please see in the end they need people to sort out the items. So, if we do the things right it will make it easy for everyone later.
Here is a sample list of things you can recycle and the things you can’t recycle. I got this information from my local recycling center.
THINGS YOU CAN PUT IN A RECYCLE BIN:
- Newspaper
- White paper
- Green, brown and clear glass
- Corrugated cardboard
- Paperboard such as cereal boxes, shoeboxes
- Plastic bottles
- Aseptic juice boxes
- Gable-top paper cartons such as milk cartons
- Metal food cans
- Aluminum beverage cans
- Aluminum foil (no food residue)
- Six-pack rings
- Magazines
- Junk mail and catalogs
THINGS YOU CAN’T PUT IN A RECYCLE BIN:
- Yogurt cups
- Margarine containers
- Frozen food trays
- Plastic wrap
- Plastic bags
- Styrofoam
- Phone books
- Stamps and stickers in junk mail
- Pizza boxes
- Plastic bottles that contain oil or hazardous substances
Recycle, but do the right thing. If you are not recycling, please do, even a little contribution will help.
It is not hard to recycle; you can make it a habit and do the wise thing for you and your children’s future.

I guess people need to be aware of putting things separately in different bags- those which can be recycled and those which cannot be.Great information.
Yes, it will make it easy for them to sort out and also we can be happy all the item we put will be recycled.

I agree Shaye, it is getting worse and worse, I see people throwing plenty of beer cans, soda cans outside, whenever I walk I try to pick them but is getting out of hand.

i think there shoud be a law that every one should recycle. i think that in a 100 years that the world will be using outter space to put trash out there because no one is recycle . I wrote a story about it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You actually can recycle yogurt cups. It's just that the ones that are smaller at the top than they are at the bottom must have long cuts on the sides, because animals can become stuck in them when trying to get food.

This website does not say how the things that can go in the bin get recycled.
